George W. Childs State Forest Park
At the northern edge of Dingman's Ferry is an unmarked macadamized road.
Right on this road through forest country to the junction with another road, 1.3 m.; L. here, descending steeply into a valley, to the GEORGE W. CHILDS STATE FOREST PARK (camping, fishing, swimming, and picnicking), 3 m., a 52-acre tract presented to the State in 1892 by George W. Childs, publisher and editor of the Philadelphia Public Ledger from 1864 to 1894. At the entrance (L) Dingman's Creek, a swift earth-brown stream, flows over a series of high stone steps to form three wide cascades, each with its frothing pool.
