Milford

MILFORD, 0 m. (503 alt., 886 pop.) (see Tour 1), is at the junction with US 6 (see Tour 1).

Southwest of Milford abrupt ridges parallel the route on both sides. The Delaware (L), shallow and narrow with low banks and overhanging trees, is glimpsed occasionally through rifts in the dense foliage. Grass strips in the broken valley, cropped by cattle, are as smooth as lawns. Rabbits and squirrels are plentiful, and bear and deer are sometimes seen.
